The last Art Block Party was such a wonderful event.
A great group of enthusiastic artists were networking, sharing ideas, having fun, enjoying great music and refreshments.
Thank you Mike for organizing the party!
THANK YOU Peggy for inviting us to your wonderful studio!
Thank you all for comming and filling the box and the board with your suggestions!

Please check the following ideas/suggestions that some of the participants wrote during the party:
ReplyDelete1) For longevity, start slow, rather then a large, annual event, sponsor several small events. These would promote a larger bi or tri annual event.
2) Really interested in seeing workshops for different art styles.
3) Local schools/art programs/curriculums should somehow be integrated into this effort-to get budding young artists involved & families interested.
4)If you/we invite crafters maybe they can have a designated area.
5) La Crosse Community Theater possibly de skits or imprint like "Whose Lens is it Anyway" during block party".
6) We should tie in culinary arts somehow, or local downtown restaurants, diners. We should involve La Crosse Concert Band. Commissioned music? Premiere? Check on timing of their efforts for a new Riverside Park Band Shell. Could there be some synergy with its construction or unveiling?
7) Arts/crafts for all economic levels.
8)J Demonstrations are an easy contribution and attract watchers.
9) We should paint a group mural/ala prima, plain aire spontaneous in town for art publicity.
10) GO GUYS
11) This is a great idea for the community.
12) Sounds exciting.
